How to disable accidental swiping from touch pad of ThinkPad laptops running Windows 8/8.1

Overview

This problem occurs to those who have ThinkPad laptops running Windows 8 or 8.1. The problem is that the user swipe the touch pad from "left to right" which triggers the "Charms Bar", this becomes annoying if it happens repeatedly. Fortunately, there's a solution to this problem.

You must have the UltraNav driver

First,
you must have installed ThinkPad's UltraNav driver for your laptop's touch pad. This driver is provided by Lenovo and it adds features to the touch pad. It usually comes pre-installed on new ThinkPads.
You can grab the driver from the official lenovo website if you don't have it, or it's recommended to update if you have an old version. Just search for "UltraNav" with your ThinkPad model and operating system (Windows 8 or 8.1). Example: UltraNav driver ThinkPad E430 Windows 8.1.

Here's how to do it:

1. Open your UltraNav driver settings.
Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Mouse, and click on "UltraNav" tab. Click "Touch pad settings".
Or you can simply type "Mouse" in Windows search and go to "Mouse and touch pad settings".

2. On the left item menu, click "Application Gestures" > "Edge swipes".

3. Disable "Edge swipes".

That's it! "Charms Bar" is no longer accessible from touch pad.
